The Health Professions Network (HPN) invites you to the HPN Spring Conference, "Investing In Healthcare's Human Capitol" being held in Atlanta, Georgia. This meeting marks HPN's 11th year of meeting activity. The Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau will host the meeting, with arrival scheduled for the afternoon of Thursday, March 16, 2006, and departure for the morning of Sunday, March 19, 2006.

The Coordinating Team has identified speakers on several topics. Here’s what we have so far:
- The keynote presentation on Friday, March 17 will focus on "Frontline Health and the Health Care Workforce", Health Workforce Solutions LLC
- Individual speaker presentations on March 17 – 18 are being developed and will be forwarded in the near future. Some potential topics are:
- Supporting and Expanding Public Health Research: A CDC Perspective
- Cultural Competency in Allied Health
- Accessibility, Quality and Efficiency of the Health Care System
- Human Capital in Health Care
- Workforce Investment Boards and How They Pertain to Allied Health
- Hurricane Katrina – Why Workforce is Important
The Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau invites all Health Professions Network Members to come to Atlanta on March 16-19 and has graciously arranged for complimentary flight transportation to the city through Delta Air Lines, Inc. and Air Tran Airways. If you wish to take advantage of this opportunity please fill out the attached form and return by February 24, 2006 by fax to Monica Coleman, Manager, Convention Services of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau (fax #) 404-589-5695.
Complimentary Hotel arrangements are being finalized and additional information will be forthcoming. An exciting array of social functions is also being planned during the HPN meeting to give you the opportunity to get a good feel for Atlanta and how it might serve as a future meeting site.

Please fill out the attached registration form and return it with your $150 registration fee no later than March 1, 2006. The $150 fee helps HPN offset the cost of printing, postage for mailings, and speaker reimbursement.
HPN Scholarship for HOSA
This year the Health Professions Network would like to offer a $500 scholarship to a high school senior student entering an allied health discipline. This will be awarded at the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) National Leadership Conference taking place in Anaheim, CA June 2006. On the registration form there is a separate space for a contribution or donation to this effort. If you wish to participate in this effort please check the space and indicate your desired amount. Please note that the HPN is not recognized as a charitable organization and any contributions to this effort will not be recognized as a tax deduction.

We hope you will join us in Atlanta. This is an important meeting for representatives from all of the allied health professional organizations, as we will review projects underway and we identify future goals and projects.
